The weather report called for rain today, 80% chance. So I brought my sunglasses, and a good thing too.

I've read things that describe sunlight as being watery, and I never got it . . . until I moved here. The sunlight was watery today, as if I saw it from under a pool of brackish water. It's what I imagine English sunlight to be -- slightly greenish. Not at all like Italy where the sun glows with a golden cast that makes every colour more intense. It's like the difference between pasteurized processed American cheese food and stinky, home-made gorgonzola. The colours jump out and beat you about the head and shoulders.

Seeing a bright red Testarossa on the Autostrada is like seeing a multiple orgasm. It takes your breath, twists your head, and makes your knees shiver and shake.

Gosh.
