In mater's neighbourhood, there is a house on a corner. A while back, I noticed a couple of Shrub/Crazy signs shoved into the lawn. After a day or two, I noticed an ever-expanding wave of Kerry/Edwards signs moving out from the house on the corner.

I am hoping that this will be an honest election. I don't think it will be. After the last fiasco in Florida (disenfranchisement of legal voters being the biggest affront), I don't have a lot of hope. Here's hoping that the election observers from the EU do some good.

Did you happen to see footage of the Shrub speaking at the UN yesterday? There was so much bullshit flyin' out his mout' it's a wonder that a garden didn't spring up around the podium.

I was reading commentary in the International Herald Tribune about the Shrub's speech (Bush's tone-deaf U.N. Speech). What a boob. What an ignorant, petty, small-minded, jingoistic, wacko, jackass.

Has it occured to anyone that one of the reasons that the world is less stable than it was three years ago is directly attributable to the current administration? Who are they to promise safety? Safety isn't the human condition. Life isn't safe.

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." ~Hermann Goering

*shudder*

Oy vey. What gets me is that this fear is being generated and upheld by the very same generation that took drugs like they were candy, fucked up, around, sideways, over, and under, danced in the mud at Woodstock, never trusted anyone over 30, man, danced to disco, and got a free ride on the gravy train of the BabBoos.

Damn.

All the vinegar and venom aside...

La. La. La. Hato-kun sent a message yesterday saying that his working hell was almost done. That we had to figure out when and where we could get together. I'm gonna see my best friend soon. I'm gonna see my man. La. La. La.
