Happy post-T-day, y'all.

Had my delicious supper with Mater and StepPater. HellKitty perched on top of the sofa and gnawed on my head through supper. Not in an aggressive, attack-y way, but in a hmmmm, this tastes familiar way.

Got back to D's where I fell asleep with my belly being rubbed. I am like a lizard in that respect.

Had t-day leftovers for brunch on Friday. So I got some of the traditional turkey, stuffing, smashed potatoes, and gravy into my system.

Saturday, we found the most depressing spot in the Portland/Vancouver metro area. Went looking for cheap cigarettes, and ended up in a betting parlour just over the Oregon state line. The building had housed one of those cheesy country buffets, and the new tenants decided not to change anything. The walls were covered with vinyl wallpaper with cheerful drawings of water wheels, barns, sheaves of wheat, and geese--all stained brown with nicotine and smoke. A few unhappy, drooping plastic bouquets hung fron wall sconces. A pall of smoke clouded the air. The rings of electronic betting games rang out in discordant cheerfulness.

The place smelled of despair. I was quite happy to leave.

We rounded out the adventure by going to a going-out-of-business pawn shop. Picked up a drum head for Chris for free. Yay! Found a perfectly horrible decorative plate from Westport, WA (The salmon capitol of the world!) all pink, pierced, and gilded. Apparently, it was painted by colour-blind wombats with boxing gloves on their paws. Cooler heads prevailed.

The rest of the weekend was quiet. Which was perfect.

Go. Be fabulous.
