This morning on the refrigerator was the following note from StepPater to Mater:

1. Do you work tomorrow? Yes No

2. Do you want me to bring food? Yes No

3. What time? 12:00 12:30 1:00 1:30 2:00

4. Do you love me? Yes No

The first question had the No circled in red pen. The last question had the Yes circled, with the addition of "very much."

Awwww.

I don't know how their relationship works, but it works for them. They've been together for a decade and some beyond Mater's marriage to my sire. Through living on separate continents to sleeping in separate bedrooms--yet somehow, they continue together.

Another note that StepPater left Mater said, "I will make you rich before you die. So don't die yet."

We all climb our own ladders.

It gives me hope.
