Ventured out last evening for a wee bit o' poet-ing at Mojo's. Met the fantabulous MlleE at the Bonfire for a few minutes, then back over to Mojo's.

The readings were interesting. I found out that one of the older regulars grew up in Cambridge, MD. We talked about Baltimore, seafood, and the Eastern Shore. That was nice, but now I've got to watch some John Waters films because I'm feeling nostalgic. *grin*

After the readings, MlleE, L. and I went over to Noir. Destro was bartending, and a noise band was playing.

Let me tell you about the noise band. First, I am fine with experimental music. I am intrigued by explorations that defy the conventions of melody, rhythm, and scale. I eat atonality and dissonance for breakfast. Yet...

This group made noise. Just noise. To call the two guys up on stage a band would be bestowing the dignity of some sort of cohesive, artistic vision. There was no cohesive vision. They were loud, I'll give 'em that. It was like a mutually exclusive, noise-making, jerk off.

I think, with time and lots of practice, they could create something interesting. Now? Hmmm. It's a little too soon.

Mater's at her first day back at work. I've got the whole house to myself for hours. Oh joy. Oh bliss. Oh frabjous day. Quality pornotica-writing time coming *ar ar ar* up.

Go. Be fabulous.
