Question: What do I bring to a Tuesday evening potluck supper? Don't know how many people, and no idea of the percentage of people with food issues. Vegetarian? Vegan? Wheat intolerance? Lactose intolerance? Please, oh please, let there be some omnivores.

I've decided on tabouleh, which is vegan/vegetarian. Won't be able to please the non-wheat contingent, but at least it's obvious that the base is bulgur. Gosh, I hope it's obvious. With the mint, parsley, cukes, lemon juice, olive oil, and tomatoes it's pretty tasty for us omnivores too.

Don't get me wrong; dietary choices are personal and can be based on everything from taste to politics to allergies. More power to anyone who makes those choices, but...I'm tired of hearing about every digestive bubble and squeak, or every political statement that's being made, or why diet plan {insert name here} is the only choice for health and long life.

*phew!* Had to get that out of my system.

The salesdroid who recently was let go used to buy croissants and cookies and other snicky-snackies. She'd bring them to the shop, then offer us pieces, or portions. "Spreading the fat," she'd say, and go on to complain bitterly about being overweight. Way to suck the joy out of one of humanity's greatest pasttimes, lady.

*grin* Now it's time to squeeze some bulgur. Whee!

Go. Be fabulous.
