When this girl closes a bar, she closes the fucking bar.

Stayed at the acme, chatting, until the wee hours. Stumbled home and fell into bed at a quarter to five.

Can Xat party? I suppose.

More people than I expected came to the All About Me open mic. The work was sweeter than I expected. There was even a poem by a guy who'd never met me before Wednesday night. It was crazy-good.

Hell, I even got a tango top up. And tequila. And a home-made pickle (that totally rocked; spicy, garlicky goodness in a jar--mmmmmm!). I danced. I laughed. I was loud, gorgeous, and fabulous--and no one hit me. No new tattoos (though I did get a card for a highly-recommended tattoo artist), no pool cue fights, and I didn't wander home with a car muffler in my arms.

Don't ask.

If only the half-nekkid cabana boys showed up...*laugh*

The actual Day of Birth was nice. Spent part of it wandering through the movie rental shop picking movies. I got "Constantine", "The Groove Room", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (ugh.), and "Rockabilly Vampire."

Watched "The Groove Room", touted as a 3D/porno/comedy based on the Victorian naughty novel A Man With a Maid. In fact, that's one of the names it goes by. It came with those cardboard one red lens, one blue lens specs. It was interesting to perch them over my regular glasses whilst lying fetal on the floor.

Yes, that's how I generally watch movies at home.

I'm annoyed by "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Thought it was pretty, but boring. And boring is the only cinematic sin in my book. It was too self-consciously precious. And the product placements made me want to go hurt people who decide that's a good idea.

Started "Constantine" and didn't finish watching it. Chris called and I suggested getting together for a birthday beer. At the acme, of course.

We got to the acme. "The Testament of Dr. Mabuse" was playing. Yay! I've only seen bits and pieces of the film. I'm glad I got to see more of it--and will be renting that bad boy soon. Fritz Lang, circa 1933, Germany--it was eerie. The allusions to the rising National Socialism of the time are chilling. What's creepier are the parallels with the present day United States. Xat sez, check it out.

Tonight? Who knows. Though a couple of movies, a little tequila, some dark chocolate sound like a good start.

Happy chriskwasolyulekah, y'all.

Go. Be fabulous.
