Today is GranMater's 90th birthday.

Damn.

Just got off the phone with her. She told me all about her basement being flooded (she lives in New Hampshire--site of mucho rain last month). She hates dealing with contractors, but is happy that Mater is there to help.

I asked her how her birthday was going. She said that she was trying to forget that it was her birthday, but darn it, people kept reminding her. Then she laughed. She said her big secret to long life was remembering to breathe.

I could tell she was getting tired, so I said my good-byes and I love yous.

She's a cool woman. I'm glad that I'm related to her.
