Just a wee rant.

I keep on hearing how the terrorists (the undefined, nebulous boogeymen of modern politics) are cowards, and dishonourable. That's as may be--and it's a handy, knee-jerk response to things that frighten and confuse.

Let's face it folks, we cannot be made safe. It's an impossible dream. Life is not safe. There are no guarantees; and anyone who says there is, is lying.

You want safe? Dig a hole in the ground, crawl in, and fill the hole back up. That's the only safety that we're guaranteed. That's also an express ticket to having no life at all. Do you want that?

No sunsets. No pizza. No stupid adventures with friends. No laughter. No berries. No waking with a lover. No creativity. No hope. No dreams.

Doesn't sound worthwhile to me. I'll take my chances on dying tomorrow. Hell, dying today. Because, and here's the kicker, I could live and touch another person's life. He or she could touch mine--and we'd both be richer.
