Snow day, no school. Snow and freezing rain with newscasters orgasmically screeching over every closure, accident and loss of power. I did what any right-minded, self-respecting geeky girl would do; I read my new, hardcover, replacement copy of The Lord of the Rings. Perfect reading weather today.

Mater took the tree down today. I think she got a burst of energy because when Grand-mère called at 1:30 this afternoon, Mater was still in bed. She ran about all day -- muttering about how lazy she felt.

I abstained because it's not yet Elvis' birthday, the traditional date of tree removal. Hell Kitty moped, despondent because her Forest of Invisibility was felled. With enough therapy and treats she will, eventually, forgive us.
