Happy Good Riddance day, as a British friend says. I hope that everyone has wonderful plans involving drinking, altered consciousness and explosives. Unlike the last two years, I'm not going to the coast. Perhaps that's just as well; inebriated or too young (who the hell lets a three-year old light fireworks?) amateur pyrotechnicians are a recipe for disaster.

The weather's nice, it's been sunny All Day Long. Oooo, the excitement. I anticipate much neighbourhood fireworks this evening. There have been some over-excited folks who've all ready set stuff off. I hear the muffled *pops* through my open windows.

Last night some people were practicing with their pyrothechnics. The noise hit a crescendo about 11PM, with sporadic outbursts until about 2AM. HellKitty wasn't frightened, but she wasn't happy about all the activity. She sat on me for a while until her nerves were more settled.

I wonder if they make tiny cat earplugs. If they did, how the hell would they stay in? It'd take Superglue, wouldn't it?
