Let's see...

new poem, Whimper

I got all gussied up today to make myself feel special. Went to the library and was disappointed. With budget cutbacks, they're open less and less. On Fridays, they don't open until 1:00. Isn't that awful?

On to the bank, where I deposited a check for Mater. I so rarely go inside banks anymore. I was shocked at the sign on the front door that said that patrons had to remove sunglasses, hats, and motorcycle helmets before being served. They even said that prescription eyeglasses could be requested to be removed before any banking takes place. Huh?

Last night, on the local news, there was a story about West Linn High School. Seems that at the homecoming football game a lot of students in the bleachers were drunk, or getting drunk. The school's response? Random breathalyzer checks of students at school events. Way to go West Linn--creating a culture of suspicion where random searches are the norm. Great way to teach students that searches without just cause are to be expected.

Oh, I'm scared.

Other than that, made it back to the house. Planning on doing more school research, and writing. I'm putting together another chapbook--just short stories this time. Then, when that gets to be too much, working on another knitting commission--a bright, cheery, red scarf.

Whee.
